EWU Hosts 16th National Quality Convention on Education

EWU welcomed academics, students, and quality management professionals from across Bangladesh for a full day of competitions and discussion on quality in education.

The 16th National Annual Quality Convention on Education (NAQCE-2026) took place on October 3, 2026, at East West University's Aftabnagar campus. It was organized by the Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM) in collaboration with EWU, and drew academic leaders, students, and quality management professionals from across the country.

The inaugural session opened with a welcome address from Convener Mr. Md. Nuruzzaman Talukdar, Vice President of BSTQM. Prof. Dr. Khandoker Mahmudur Rahman of United International University gave the keynote speech, and BSTQM Adviser Mr. A M M Khairul Bashar also spoke. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of EWU's Board of Trustees, attended as Chief Guest, and BSTQM President Mr. A K M Shamsul Huda closed the session.

Through the day, students and academics took part in case study presentations, a poster competition, and a quality quiz competition. A panel discussion on improving the quality of education followed.

The closing session featured feedback presentations and remarks from Prof. Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of EWU's Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, along with BSTQM Secretary General Mr. M M Kabir and Mr. Shamsul Huda. EWU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shams Rahman attended as Chief Guest and presided over the prize-giving ceremony for the competition winners. Prof. Dr. A F M Nazmus Sadat, Chairman of BSTQM's Education Committee, delivered the vote of thanks.

Students from many educational institutions attended, making the convention a place to exchange ideas and experiences on raising quality in education.
