A total of 44 students from East West University participated in field level activities on September 12, 2026, as part of the nationwide "Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign 2026," which was formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister that same day at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. The campaign, running through December 12, aims to strengthen dengue prevention, cleanliness, and public awareness across the country, drawing participation from volunteers, students, and civic organizations nationwide.
The EWU group focused on identifying and reducing potential Aedes mosquito breeding sites, alongside broader efforts to encourage cleanliness and reduce stagnant water in surrounding areas. Their participation was coordinated by Abdullah Bin Taslim, a student of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at EWU, who also serves as a Trainer at PROTTYASHI and Focal Point for the Youth Volunteers Alliance.
Speaking on the initiative, Taslim said dengue prevention cannot rest on a single institution alone and requires active participation from communities and individuals working together. The participating students expressed their intention to continue raising awareness among peers, families, and their communities on preventive measures against dengue.
