Team Orange from the Department of Law at East West University won the championship of the National Legal Drama Competition at NSU Law Fest Season III, an event described as the first national legal drama competition in Bangladesh. The competition was organized by the North South University Law and Mooting Society and held on September 17, 2026, at the NSU Auditorium.

The team was led by Ashes Laskar and included Sirajam Munira Nimfia, Tandrela Das Pooja, M.M. Nadim Afran, Protyoy Talukder and Turna Sarwar. Their entry was an original drama titled "মাটির পুতুল" (Matir Putul), built around child marriage and the right of children to protection. The central character, Meenu, was inspired by UNICEF's Meena cartoon, and was played by Sirajam Munira Nimfia. Ashes Laskar played her father, Tandrela Das Pooja her mother, Turna Sarwar her friend, M.M. Nadim Afran the village Morol, and Protyoy Talukder the Morol's son.

The story follows a thirteen-year-old girl whose hopes of getting an education are broken by eve-teasing, child marriage and domestic violence, and it ends in her tragic death. By showing the distance between the laws that exist on paper and what children actually face in daily life, the piece put the spotlight on the gap between legal protection and reality. It closed on the image of a broken clay doll, a symbol of what child marriage takes away from a child's future.

Entries were first shortlisted through submitted scripts, and eight teams from universities across the country reached the live final. Team Orange took the championship and a prize of BDT 30,000.

At the closing ceremony on September 19, the awards were presented by Md. Asaduzzaman, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, who attended as Chief Guest. The ceremony was chaired by NSU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, with other NSU trustees and faculty present.

The Department of Law congratulated the team and thanked its Chairperson, Dr. Nabaat Tasnima Mahbub, for her steady support.
