Team MatiPlus, representing East West University, secured the 1st Runner-Up position at the grand finale of "Akij Resource Presents Creaventure 4.0: National Idea Pitching Competition," held on July 11, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre. The competition was organized by the Dhaka University Entrepreneurship Development Club, powered by Shwapno, in association with CFMOTO Bangladesh.
This year's edition drew 1,066 participants across 348 teams from 62 districts nationwide. After an extensive evaluation process spanning an online submission round, quarter-finals, and semi-finals, only the top 8 teams advanced to pitch at the grand finale. Among them was Team MatiPlus, led by Md. Sadik Jamal Kowshik, a student from EWU's Department of Civil Engineering, who serves as CEO of the startup.
MatiPlus impressed judges with its circular economy model, which transforms city sewage sludge into organic fertilizer. The initiative tackles urban pollution while improving soil health and agricultural productivity, aligning directly with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shams Rahman extended his congratulations to Md. Sadik Jamal Kowshik and the entire MatiPlus team for the achievement.
