Rotaract Club of East West University has contributed over 400 bottles of safe drinking water to Shammyota's flood relief initiative, joining efforts to support communities affected by the ongoing floods and landslides across Bangladesh.

ince early July 2026, heavy monsoon rainfall has triggered severe flash floods and landslides across Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, and parts of Sylhet, affecting over a million people nationwide and displacing tens of thousands from their homes. Access to clean drinking water has remained one of the most pressing needs for those in shelters and marooned communities.

In a statement accompanying the initiative, Rotaract Club of EWU described the contribution as a small step, while expressing hope that students, alumni, and well-wishers across the East West University community would come forward in their own capacity to widen the scope of support. The club emphasized that any contribution, regardless of size, holds meaning for those affected.
