The official Facebook page of the UN Human Rights Council posted a congratulatory message for East West University, recognizing the university's participation in the 18th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, held from July 13 to 17, 2026, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

The post specifically noted that the East West University team reached the Advanced Rounds of the competition, one of the most prestigious human rights moot court events in the world. EWU was the only team representing Bangladesh at this stage of the competition, competing alongside institutions from over 30 countries.

Being publicly acknowledged by the UN Human Rights Council itself is a rare distinction, one that reflects directly on the standard of advocacy and preparation the EWU Law team brought to the international stage.
